Introduction to Global Positioning System GPS

Archeological discoveries  Global Positioning System Is the platform that was relied upon by Research teams for the Antiquities in Alexandria Therefore, we will highlight the basics of this global system.

Will read together in this article :
Gps, Global Positioning System , VLBI, Very Long Baseline Interferommetry, LLR, Lunar Laser Ranging, SLR, Satellite Laser Ranging,

The theme of the GPS Both of which approximate or exact Among the targets that have received considerable attention in the space age , Where the allocated number of space programs for this purpose. Has emerged as a result  A number of systems in the field of maritime business, cadastral and geodesic Among these systems:

VLBI (Very Long Baseline Interferommetry) - LLR (Lunar Laser Ranging) - SLR (Satellite Laser Ranging) - GPS (Global Positioning System)
The Global Positioning System Of the most important systems that are created by human, And led to a big leap in this area, Because of its many advantages.
The main objective of the establishment Create a system capable of positioning anywhere on the Earth's surface, Around the clock in all weather conditions. The system is designed so that the user The reception of satellite signals without having to send any kind of signals it.
And the system consists of three main sections, Is a section Space And control section And user section
section Space
Department is the primary nerve space in the system, It consists of a constellation of satellites Which revolves around the Earth at a height of an average of 20 200 km. The system is designed to launch satellites In the form of successive generations So as to bring the newest generation place of the older generation At the present time the number of satellites 31 satellite.
control section
The task of this section to track and control satellites continuously In order to ensure the work accurately To correct errors that occur during the rotation around the Earth, It consists of five stations and receive follow-up, And the main station for processing And three antennas.
Follow-up monitoring stations are all satellites on orbit today And send meteorological data to the main station for processing That calculate the deviations in the orbits of satellites And calculate the necessary corrections have It then sends this data to the antennas Which holds the process of sending data to satellites During rotation around the Earth In order to maintain the data sent by satellite to date and accurate Is to calculate the coordinates of points on the earth's surface accurately.
user section
This section contains two main sectors Namely the military sector and the civil sector The system is characterized by covering a large amount of applications Which vary among themselves in terms of accuracy In terms of prices of hardware and equipment used. There are applications that require low resolution Such as maritime business And applications that require a medium level of accuracy Business such as cadastral Finally, there are applications that require a high level of accuracy Such as studying the Earth's crust move, Study the earth's rotation rate To what's out there of these applications That require certain types of devices and equipment And experience in high-use And treatment of Meteorology and the results
